The New Chicago Sewer Department would like to remind the residents that we are on a septic tank system in town. The septic tanks are pumped every 5 to 7 years and the company that pumps these tanks for the residents also does an inspection of them at that time. A letter is sent out to notify the property owner of any issues that are found with the tank including if any foreign objects were found during the pump/inspection of the tank. Foreign objects include, but are not limited to:

• Wipes
• Small Toys
• Hygiene Products
