February Parks Board and Town Council Meeting Streams

The New Chicago Park Board and New Chicago Town Council meetings will be live streamed every month. This started officially with the February meetings. The meetings will be streamed to YouTube each month and stored there for later viewing. You can find these streams on the Town of New Chicago YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/@TownOfNewChicago and view at any time. If you have a YouTube account, be sure to hit Subscribe on the page and then hit it again and select all so that you should get a notification 30 minutes prior to the stream starting and also when the stream starts.

Please note: The only meeting that is required to be streamed is the Town Council meeting. Also, comments that come in during the stream are not required to be read. Someone will try to monitor the stream for comments that come in stating that there is no audio so that issues can be fixed, but that will be the extent of it. If you would like to make a comment that is officially part of the record, please come in person to any of the town meetings.

As a reminder, the schedule of meetings for the town are as follows:

  • Police Commission – 1st Monday of the month at 6pm
  • Parks Board – 1st Tuesday of the month at 6pm
  • Planning Commission – 2nd Wednesday of the month at 5pm
    • These meetings only take place when needed and may not happen every month.
  • Town Council – 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6pm.

Meetings are subject to change due to availability to the various board/council members as an official meeting can only be held when a quorum is present and may also change due to holidays or in the case of the Parks Board, election days. If there is a change to the schedule of a meeting that was not already advertised at the beginning of the year in the local newspapers, a sign will be posted at the temporary town hall/water department, a reach alert will be sent out (sign up for Reach Alert for free at https://app.reachalert.com/network-select) and we will do our best to make a post here and also on the various Facebook pages. By state law, the only two required postings of a change of meeting are at the meeting location and to be advertised in the classified section of the newspaper.
