  • Who do I call if there is a water main break after hours or on a holiday?
    • If there is a water main break after hours, call 911. They will contact the officer on duty who will then contact the water department foreman.
  • How do I contact my ward representative?
    • To contact any of the town council members or town manager, please visit the Contact page by clicking the link at the top of the screen or going to https://newchicagoin.gov/contact
  • When/Where are the various town meetings held?
    • The various town board and council meetings are tentatively scheduled as follows:
      • Police Commission – 1st Monday of Each Month @ 6pm
      • Parks Board – 1st Tuesday of Each Month @ 6pm
      • Planning Commission – 2nd Wednesday of Each Month @ 5pm
        • Please note that there may not be a meeting each month as we may not have someone on the agenda each month.
      • Town Council – 2nd Wednesday of Each Month @ 6pm.
    • All town meetings are currently being held at Hobart Township Rosser Hall, 1401 W 37th Ave, Hobart, IN 46342.
  • How do I contact Total Disposal?
    • The phone number for Total Disposal, the company that picks up our garbage each week and recycling bi-weekly, is 219-944-1800. This number is also listed on the side of your garbage and recycling cans.
  • Will Total Disposal pickup large items?
    • Yes. For full details and to schedule a pickup (all large item pickups MUST be scheduled ahead of time), please call 219-944-1800.
